2019 Reading Plan (February Update)

Hello,

Surprisingly the year began strong with a total of five books completed books for the month of January. Of the five books, three were planned while one was a ARC via a giveaway and one “unplanned” home read. Before I get to specifics lets look at the stats.

Overall Total: 5/45 (11.1%)
Original List: 3/45 (6.7%)
Total Pages: 2245 (449)

Of my original list, I began and finished Founding Rivals, The Rise and Fall of the British Empire, and Raise the Titanic!. I won’t rehash my reviews (links below), but of those three The Rise and Fall of the British Empire stood out the most while Founding Rivals was interesting and Raise the Titanic was fine. I received a book via LibraryThing by Giles Milton (I’m not going to write that long title) and find it compelling but keeping the eyewitnesses straight became a problem. The one “unplanned”, as in not on my original list, was a biography of W.W. Prescott by Gilbert M. Valentine which I read on the weekends.

Overall I was surprised how much I was able to get through this past month, what I haven’t figured in was the 61% of The Histories by Herodotus that I’ve read. Given that I’ve just written a very long book review just before writing this post, I’m not going to linger any more. So have a good day and see you around.
